Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles.

It is used for chronic aches and pain of contracted areas.

With chronic muscle tension or injury, there may be adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Adhesions can disrupt circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation.

Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, direct deep pressure is used.

Everyone's tolerance to pressure and pain is different, so each session is designed around these factors.

Bowen Therapy

Bowen Therapy is a multidimensional approach to pain relief and healing. It is based on the recognition that the underlying cause or source of many musculoskeletal, neurological,

neuromuscular, and other health or pain problems could be found in the soft tissue (fascia).

Fascia is a specific type of connective tissue that forms a three-dimensional web surrounding every tissue in the body.

Fascia is the largest sensory organ in the body, and is the organiser embracing all nerves, bones, arteries, veins and muscles.

The technique involves a gentle, flicking-type movement at precise points on the body designed to stimulate the tissue and nerve pathways to help relax the body.

When the body is more physically relaxed, underlying alignment issues that can cause and further aggravate injuries are minimised.

Sports Massage

Sports massage involves the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of soft tissues within the body specifically the muscles, ligaments and tendons.

Sports massage can not only help treat your current strains and tension but be used as a method of preventing future injuries.

These include overuse or repetitive strain injuries whether they are from your daily activities or from your training regime.

Sports massage therapy is suitable not just for athletes and sporting professionals, but for a wide variety of people who are wishing to prevent or recover from a soft tissue injury.

The aim of a sports massage is to alleviate tension in your musculoskeletal system.

Whether you want to boost your performance or recover from an over-training injury, it's important to have a rehabilitation action plan customised for you.

Myofascial Cupping

Where most other forms of massage use downwards pressure, this technique lifts and separates tissue using flexible medical-grade silicone cups.

Cupping increases nutrient-rich blood flow to the area treated, and can reduce pain due to the de-compressive force or "negative pressure" applied.

Regan uses both static and mobile cupping techniques in conjunction with other massage techniques to help relieve aches and pains.

It is also very effective with trigger points, as the cups are not invasive, especially for those who do not like receiving Dry Needling (refer below).

Trigger Point Dry Needling

Trigger point dry needling (TDN) is a treatment technique that uses small filament type needles to release tight muscles with the goal of permanently reducing muscle pain and dysfunction.

The aim is to achieve a local twitch response to release muscle tension and pain.

TDN helps to reduce pressure on the nerve by releasing muscle shortening. It is now well researched that the "twitch response" in the muscle during dry needling is associated with the muscle relaxing and stopping the pull on adjacent areas.

TDN can be used for a variety of applications, from addressing postural-based discomfort, to enhancing athletic performance by addressing over or under-active muscle groups.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology tape is a type of elastic therapeutic tape designed to provide support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting motion. RockTape is commonly used by athletes, both professional and recreational, to aid in injury prevention, reduce pain, and improve performance.

Scar Tissue Release

This is an innovative and successful method of scar tissue treatment. Long lasting results are obtained in many, many cases of post-surgical and trauma wound scars – even if the scar is decades old. It is quick, painless and truly amazing in its efficacy.

Postural Analysis

Your posture provides much information regarding the natural state of the body's tissues. Through postural analysis it is possible to determine which areas of their body are under more strain than others, and which muscle groups are causing this strain.
